Related products

Isooctyl acrylate is a strategically important acrylate monomer that enables the synthesis of polymers with tailored softness and hydrophobic properties. E Plus Chemical Co., Ltd., with its significant production footprint, is a key supplier of this material. The unique branched-chain structure of isooctyl acrylate reduces crystallinity in copolymers, resulting in materials with permanent tack and excellent adhesion properties. This is critical for the production of self-adhesive products such as medical tapes and wound care dressings, where skin compatibility and secure adhesion are paramount. In the construction industry, acrylic emulsions based on this monomer are used in ceramic tile adhesives and grouts, improving flexibility and water resistance in wet areas. Furthermore, it is used in the synthesis of oil additives that improve the viscosity index and low-temperature performance of lubricants. The company's focus on research and development ensures that its isooctyl acrylate meets the evolving needs of these dynamic markets. Common problem

What role does 2-EHA play in the polymer formation of E Plus Chemical’s products?

2-EHA is a key monomer in E Plus Chemical’s polymer formation. It reduces the glass transition temperature (Tg) to -65 °C, ensuring flexibility at ambient temperatures—critical for pressure-sensitive adhesives. Its branched C8 alkyl chain strengthens cohesion while maintaining low-temperature performance. When copolymerized with methyl methacrylate (MMA), it enables uniform cross-linking, balancing tackiness and shear resistance in adhesives.
E Plus Chemical’s acrylate-based waterborne acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive is used in various industrial and consumer applications. It offers unmatched quality stability for consistent performance. Supported by large production capacity, it meets large-scale demands while maintaining quality. With streamlined manufacturing and advanced logistics, it ensures quick delivery, reducing lead times—suitable for scenarios requiring reliable adhesion and efficient supply.
Compared to solvent-based systems, E Plus Chemical’s acrylate-based waterborne resins cut VOC emissions by 70-90%, complying with EPA Tier 4 standards. They require lower cure energy (15-25 kWh/m² vs. 30-45 kWh/m² for solvent-based) and have lower film density (0.92-0.95 g/cm³ vs. 1.02-1.08 g/cm³). Though solvent-based systems have faster initial adhesion, waterborne ones achieve comparable peel strength (≥12 N/25 mm) after curing, and reduce energy use in curing.
Isooctyl acrylate (IOA) is a core acrylate product of E Plus Chemical, focused on R&D, production, and sales by the company. E Plus Chemical has an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons for isooctyl acrylate. IOA is a key monomer for synthesizing elastomers, adhesives, and coatings, and the company’s large capacity ensures it can meet large-scale customer demands for this acrylate product.
