What role does 2-EHA play in the polymer formation of E Plus Chemical’s products?

2-EHA is a key monomer in E Plus Chemical’s polymer formation. It reduces the glass transition temperature (Tg) to -65 °C, ensuring flexibility at ambient temperatures—critical for pressure-sensitive adhesives. Its branched C8 alkyl chain strengthens cohesion while maintaining low-temperature performance. When copolymerized with methyl methacrylate (MMA), it enables uniform cross-linking, balancing tackiness and shear resistance in adhesives.
E Plus Chemical uses a full Distributed Control System (DCS) technology for its acrylate-based OEM products. This advanced system ensures high precision and reliability in every manufacturing step, maintaining exceptional accuracy and consistency. Its OEM offerings for acrylate products have a diverse range to cater to wide industry needs, whether for specialized components or large-scale production, delivering unmatched quality to meet clients’ specific requirements.
Compared to solvent-based systems, E Plus Chemical’s acrylate-based waterborne resins cut VOC emissions by 70-90%, complying with EPA Tier 4 standards. They require lower cure energy (15-25 kWh/m² vs. 30-45 kWh/m² for solvent-based) and have lower film density (0.92-0.95 g/cm³ vs. 1.02-1.08 g/cm³). Though solvent-based systems have faster initial adhesion, waterborne ones achieve comparable peel strength (≥12 N/25 mm) after curing, and reduce energy use in curing.
